had enough?

Winter.
Still hangin' on in April...

Yuck.

I'm so glad that I can walk through my garden each day!

Had enough?
Come and walk through my garden!
It looks like spring.  It smells like spring.

You're welcome any day...

it ain't over 'til it's over...

25 days ago I was wearing flip flops
winter, or what we had of it, seemed to have taken an early leave
and for the first days of "spring", it was actually spring!
and then...
a snow day in the middle of April

o.m.g......only in northern Minnesota

schools closed from one end of the Iron Range to the other
I guess old Mother Nature decided winter wasn't over yet...

a quiet day in the shop - time to continue with the painting...

going from a taupe/brown color to a soft green

although the pictures don't do the color justice...

I like the way things are turning out...

I used a darker gray/green for an accent on the door trim

much more to do...but I think I'm about half way done.

stinky little things...

Several times a year the hoya blooms.....

stinky little things, they are...

gorgeous clusters of small pink blossoms
dripping with nectar

but they do not smell nice....

i received the plant from my dear friend Kae the year before she passed
she didn't like it
in fact, she wanted to kill it
it didn't do well for her...

it has flourished in my window
and several times a year it /she reminds me
that if you look past those things that are unpleasant
you will often find great beauty....

and that life continues
and flourishes
and blooms

even though, sometimes, it stinks
!

vintage treasures

I love these little vintage inspired glass bottles

and petite vases made of recycled glass.

Both are perfect for just one or two blooms from your florist, or from your garden.

Lovely on a nightstand, perfect in the powder room, or refreshing in the kitchen.
They bring something light and lively and charming to your living space.

little treasures

I do so love little treasures.
Like this darling silver tea  / coffee server brought in by a client for me to fill with something permanent as a gift to her mother.  Nothing fancy, just a sweet little something for her table.

I love the way it turned out.

Sweet and rather English looking - and it does not overwhelm the beauty of the silver.

Next time you're cleaning out the attic, or the garage, and you find a little treasure...you might consider letting it be repurposed to hold something special for your table!
